May 2009 Litter |

All 7 puppies at 24-hours old, eagerly nursing a very attentive dam. |

Just a few days after whelping, we track puppy weight-gain on a simple food-scale. |

While we clean the whelping box, the puppies blend-in as they indulge in their 2nd favorite activity, sleeping. |

At two-weeks old, the food scale is already getting a little small for the rapidly growing pups! |

Our little male pup has already discovered the ball and fallen sound asleep after playtime. |

At 3-weeks old, we get mixed reactions to their first taste of solid food. |
| Click here to see a video of playtime with Ian's slippers! |

By four-weeks of age, the puppies get to spend a few hours each day outside. |

Part of puppy socialization involves interactions with older dogs, in this case her 3-year old half-sister. |
Click here to see a video of some puppy socialization to loud noises. |

At 6-weeks old, the pups are very inquisitive and active; they don't hold still long enough for a photo like this until they're sleepy. |

At 8-weeks old the puppies get supervised playtime all over our farm and never seem to stop jumping, running, and generally having fun! |
Puppy Updates:
(from their new homes) |

Dana vom Guesthaus at 8 months of age having completed beginner obedience in Rochester. |

Celebrating the season just before the pups turned 2 weeks old. |

A 3-week old female fell fast asleep with her toys. |

As soon as the pups have their milk-teeth, we introduce the pups to solid food (around 3-weeks). |

As early as 4 weeks, we begin socialization to other friendly animals and various new people. |

Despite being whelped and raised in our home, the pups have no problem going for a romp in the snow before 5-weeks of age! |

After a long day of sleeping, eating, playing with brothers, sisters, and mom, then eating some more and playing in the snow, this sable male is tuckered out! (around 4 weeks old) |

(HGH = Herdengebrauchshund = Herding Utility Dog) |
The German-style herding title involves tending and herding roughly 200 sheep and is quite different from most AKC-style herding trials. For more information, Ulf Kintzel has some informative articles on his website for White Clover Sheep Farm.
